Getting Back On Your Feet

ZenBear Tai Chi

Tai Chi Ch'uan is an ancient Chinese meditative and healing practice based on the idea that HARMONY with Self and Nature is a fundamental principle of healthy well-being. It is a series of slow choreographed movements that are designed to foster inner peace and wholeness. By stimulating and channeling one's inner energies, Tai Chi reconnects mind to body, attention to intention, and the individual to his/her environment. The practice enhances balance, restores energy, strengthens muscles, improves coordination, expands awareness, eases stress, cultivates mindfulness, and reduces anxiety.

This program is an ongoing weekly series of 1.5 hour classes, meeting once a week, in which the philosophy, demonstration, and practice of Tai Chi Ch'uan is imparted to students in a safe, nurturing, and healing environment. This program is designed for both beginners who are just starting their journey into the Tai Chi experience and for program graduates who are deepening their practice. Because the moves are taught in a progressive sequence, weekly attendance is essential to overall learning. Students are asked to commit for a 3 month quarter at a time.

Classes: now meeting on Thursday and Friday mornings, 10:00 a.m - 11:30 a.m. Classes are conducted at St. Francis Episcopal Church, 399 San Fernando Way (at Ocean), San Francisco, CA. Tuition is $60.00/month. A sliding scale is available.
